Diane Garcia

BELA Committee Vice President, Diane Garcia is a registered Professional Architectural Technologist and has been registered with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) since 2006. As Director of G Squared Project Management (Pty) Ltd, she leads a multidisciplinary consultancy with offices in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) and Jeffreys Bay, providing architectural, civil, and structural engineering services throughout South Africa.

With approximately 40 years of experience in the engineering and built environment industry, Diane began her career in 1978 as an apprentice in the Engineering Department of SA Post and Communications. She subsequently gained extensive engineering experience with Highveld Steel and Vanadium and several engineering consultancies, working on high-voltage overhead power line infrastructure and large HVAC and cooling system projects before transitioning into architecture.

Today, Diane leads a multidisciplinary team delivering projects of all scales and scopes- from bespoke residential homes and housing developments to commercial, industrial, institutional, hospitality, and mixed-use developments across South Africa. Her expertise spans every stage of a project, from concept design and statutory approvals through to construction and project completion.

Recognised for her technical excellence and extensive knowledge of the National Building Regulations and municipal approval processes, Diane is committed to delivering innovative, compliant, practical, and sustainable solutions.
